Donna Karan is a famous fashion designer and the creator of DKNY (Donna Karan New York). She was born on October 2, 1948, in Forest Hills, New York. She started working for Anne Klein and eventually became the head of Anne Klein's design-team until 1989. Donna Karan became famous for her Essentials line for her legendary "Seven Easy Pieces" for women. Today the Essentials line has expanded to over 200 pieces.

Donna Karan launched her first fragrance in 1992 for women. It was a limited edition. But Bergdorf Goodman (US) and Harrods (UK) started to carry this fragrance in August 2008. It has a very sexy and sultry fragrance with high notes of apricot, bergamot, green notes, neroli, peach and pineapple. It is followed by floral notes of carnations, cassia, jasmine, lily, orchid, and rose, ylang-ylang with base notes of amber, benzoin, cedar, citruses, Tonka beans, vanilla, sandalwood, musk, suede, patchouli and incense.

One of the rare fragrances from Donna Karan is the Chaos which was released in 1996. It is now re-released b Bergdorf Goodman. It has an oriental fragrance of chamomile, coriander, carnations, cinnamon, saffron, sandalwood and musk. This perfume is bold with a distinct fragrance of spices, woods and herbs. Though it's quite expensive, but is every bit worth your money.

Black Cashmere is yet another classic Donna Karan fragrance. This perfume has a unique smoky fragrance and is truly one of its kinds. The fragrance includes spicy notes of saffron, carnations, red and white pepper with woody notes of patchouli and assorted African trees. Later on, DKNY Men was launched in 2000. It has top notes of ginger and mandarin orange, middle notes of ivy and juniper and base notes of sandalwood and maple. It has a masculine yet soft fragrance. Cologne for men was introduced in 2006 called DKNY Red Delicious. It was a limited edition with a woody fragrance.

Donna Karan Gold for women was launched in 2006. It comes in an impressive gold and black bottle, which is a favorite combination of Donna Karen. It smells quite elegant and expensive. The fragrance includes lily and Casablanca which carry the scent of gold. The fragrance is very powerful but at the same time very gentle and feminine. It is perfect for special occasions.

Be Delicious Fresh Blossom being the latest perfume, is a fresh, airy and a gentle fragrance released in 2009. This fragrance has the accords of grapefruit, rose and jasmine petals. This is a perfect fragrance for spring. Like many other fragrances of Donna Karan, this too has an apple shaped bottle but this one has a combination of metal and pink glass.
