Bribing Myself Into Liking Winter By Going to Fun Winter-Related Events

I. Hate. Winter. There's no question about it. I hate walking like a hunchback in an unfounded attempt to maximize body temperature. Then I hate getting all sweaty once I go inside because my body can't handle shifting from -30 degrees to 68.

But I do like to ski, so this Saturday I'm heading to the House of Blues in Boston for Teton Gravity Research presents: RE:SESSION with the hope that I'll dread winter a little bit less if I have something fun to look forward to on the weekends. If you're in the area and you'd like to go, click here for more information.

Another Flickr Beauty

Fungi Macro Abstract, originally uploaded by scilit.

It is always amazing to watch new technology take shape; some applications and websites become popular, some don't. And its not always clear why. Flickr, a site with millions of photographs in no particular order from all around the world, has become an internet sensation. Some pretty awful photographs can be found; but hidden amongst these are some gems such as "Fungi Macro Abstract." Photographs like this one make me understand the Flickr phenomenon. Have you found any Flickr masterpieces lately?
